Since opening in 2001, GMoCCA has grown and become a museum that is truly representative of Korean ceramics. It introduces Korean ceramics to the world and connects the local ceramic community with the world.

By hosting special exhibitions that examine the present state of contemporary ceramic art and seeking a forward-looking approach, the Museum has played a pivotal role in moderating the on-going discussions on ceramic art. It has also served as a space for cultural activities where the realm of ceramic culture can be expanded. The Museum has worked together with the public through educational programs, informative lectures, and career training programs that address the needs of a very specific class of people. And, in close cooperation with world-renowned institutions specialized in art and culture, the Museum promotes exhibitions for international exchange that raise the stature of Korean ceramics on the global stage and residency programs that support exchange of creative work and inspiration by artists all across the world in its eorts to realize the coexistence needed for ceramic art in the future.

To make ceramic art a part of everyday life of Gyeonggi-do Province—and thereby make life richer for all—the Museum will strive to be closer and more familiar to the public. As an important center of world ceramics, the Museum is committed to increasing the values of ceramic art by incessantly communicating with the world.
